How to Help Your Whitening Toothpaste Be More Successful

Posted .

If you’re using whitening toothpaste, our dentist, Dr. Thomas Ouellette, has some tips for you. Most of the time whitening toothpaste only whitens the smile one to two shades. But, if you try to get the most out of your toothpaste, you might get better results. Our dentist is happy to tell you how to get the most out of your whitening toothpaste in Denver, Colorado.

First, be patient and keep using the paste. Whitening toothpaste doesn’t typically provide results for several weeks. So, keep using the paste and avoid consuming dark foods and drinks and using tobacco. Also, remember that because whitening toothpaste doesn’t actually change the color of your teeth, you can undo the results quickly. So, you need to be aware of the stain-causing things you put in your mouth. If it can stain fabric, it can stain your chompers.

Second, brush your teeth and rinse your mouth immediately after consuming a stain-causing food or beverage. (Remember that it’s best to avoid these things in the first place). Brushing and rinsing can wash the staining particles away and prevent the formation of even more smile stains.
